Rules and regulations

Day 1:

Everyone plays their own golf ball for the entirety of the hole. Handicaps will be established prior to the round. No mulligans. A player may pick up their golf ball and forfeit the hole if and only if another teammate has completed the hole in lesser strokes. All hazards are played in accordance with current course’s governing rules and regulations. Once all 18 holes are completed, the team’s best ball score shall be calculated and marked clearly on the scorecard.

Day 2:

Same teams as day 1. No handicaps. Teams must scramble 6 holes from the furthest back tees, 6 holes from the middle tees, and 6 holes from the furthest forward tees. The same rules and regulations as day 1 apply, but teams are allowed to follow standard scramble rules. Teams must mark which holes they played from which tees legibly on the scorecard. Once all 18 holes are completed, the team’s scramble score shall be calculated and marked clearly on the scorecard.

More Rules:

  • Saturday and Sunday scorecards will be added up for each team. The lowest 2-day score wins the GBD Cup.

  • Save scorecards so a custom placard can be made and added to the GBD Cup. The placard will include players’ names and 2-day total team score.

  • Each player is responsible for their own daily green fees.

  • Each player is responsible for buying another player from another team an “appropriate” golf Polo shirt to be worn on day 2 (Limit $40 per polo).

  • Each player is responsible for paying their share of the travel/lodging expense. Tournament director would prefer to be paid through this site/venmo.

  • Each player is responsible for paying their share of the skins/proxy marker expense if they wish to have a chance to win skins and or proxy prizes.

    • All payment can be made in the Registration tab when registering for current years tournament.

  • In the event of a tie between teams, a chip off on the practice green will determine the winning team.

    • Losing team(s) will pick the chipping area and hole.

    • Tee flip will decide which team chips first.

    • Other team must turn away and is not allowed to watch while the other team is chipping.

    • All chips per team will be added up in feet and inches, combined, and the closest total distance will determine the winning team.

    • In the event of a course not having a chipping green, a scorecard playoff may be used to determine the winning team.

  • No cheating.

  • Tournament directors reserve the right to rescind future invites to the G.B.D.I.
